The last picture is a real give away. Yes! We met the Mouse! And toured his house! We also scared the crap out of our kids a few times and they will never believe us that something is "really fun" again. Isaac is tall enough to ride all the rides at Disneyland and he almost did it. He hated Indiana Jones - had his head down and eyes closed the whole time. Splash Mountain had Steven's heart thumping and legs shaking. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad had them both crying and Steven declaring that he had to throw up. I wasn't going to try the Tower of Terror, but they said they wanted to do it. They decided to chicken out before our elevator was ready, we dragged them screaming into their seats and buckled them in. Everyone else was laughing at us and Steven had a death grip around my waist. I loved that ride! It was my favorite. The boys lived through it. We had to promise no more scary rides after that. So we all missed California Screaming, The Grizzly River Run, and Space Mountain. We made it on all the other rides in 3 days. Even Casey Jr. Circus Train was fun. My aunt took us to dinner one night and we met our neighbors for fireworks the last night. I thought the park was crowded for March, but maybe everyone else decided this was a good way to spend the tax refund too.
The boys had never stayed in a hotel before. The first thing Steven said when we got to our room was, "Where is the kitchen?" Eating out was a little hard on us. The second day when we brought Isaac his chicken nugget lunch he almost cried. We had to promise no more chicken nuggets. Please don't offer us any french fries for a while. When we got to St. George I bought a loaf of bread and peanut butter and jam. Tummies were much happier after that.
Chris was on the "Tech Team" for his work's mini indy on our way home. They stage a charity event every year and race go carts around the Dixie College campus. Sorry, no pictures of that part of the vacation. The boys wanted to swim in the pool and watch cartoon network more than sit and watch go carts. During the 1 1/2 hours we were at the race, one guy was flipped up in the air and landed on his head when a cart hit him. We were sitting right in front of it and I had to move the boys to distract them pretty fast. The guy was OK, but it was more than the boys needed to see. We toured the Jacob Hamblin home, and Brigham Young's winter home and went to see the temple. After all that, the boys didn't want to hear any more "talking" as Steven put it.
Overall we had a great vacation. Our first that didn't involve the camping trailer. Only a couple of carsick events. Serves us right for driving so long with only chips and cookies to eat and making Steven do his homework. We were prepared with our cool whip container and ziploc baggies (sorry, throw up is a big part of our life). Thank goodness for the DVD player with headphones!! We really did have a good time. I think the boys will remember it. Chris has decided traveling with the boys isn't impossible.
