Isaac has a magic bike helmet. The little blue bike couldn't handle the training wheels any longer. The bolt was stripped out at the ends so Chris took them off. A few minutes later Isaac came in to inform me that he needed to learn how to ride a 2 wheeler. I told him that we would put on his magic helmet and give it a try. After only a couple runs up and down the sidewalk he had it! Way to go little 5 year old!
Isaac's helmet turned out to be doubly magic on our 4 wheeler ride last Saturday. We were visiting my sister and her DH and they took us out on a trail. After a great day of riding and a hot dog roast, we were almost back to the truck when I struck a root with the front wheel and tipped the machine over on the 2 of us in a ditch. Isaac was screaming like banchee and all I could think was that I had hurt my baby. Jeff was there in a flash lifting it off us. Isaac finally scooted out of the way and I wiggled out between the machine and a large rock. Turns out Isaac has a scratch on his knee and some scrapes on his elbow. Hey - luck helmet! I had a nice visit to the Wayne County Medical Clinic for 6 stiches in my elbow and a x-ray of my ribs. Darn rock! I would have fared much better landing in the mud. I also got to file my first police report. I am normally not a thrill seeker, but I have turned a few things upside down in my life and had to be saved by my brother in laws. Steven says he was glad to be with Jeff the "safe" rider. Jeff said it is usually him who ends up in the clinic after an adventure. I am thankful that Isaac and I fared so well. It could have been much worse. I didn't even bend the handlebars. Now you know why I'm moaning and groaning if you see me. I'd post pictures but they would be a PG-13 picture show.

How about the picture of the helmet! I crashed on a three wheeler when I was younger it would have been even scarier with my child on board. I am glad that Isaac didn't get hurt but I am sorry you did. Happy healing.
Wow what an adventure. Mike has become a little more dangereous on his 4 wheeler and had a few spills. I am a little more careful on mine though. I am glad Isaac didn't get hurt. That is always scary.
all about bikes at your house huh? Glad you do the helmets. Im a fan of that.
